Hinged Shower Doors

Hinged shower doors are hinged on one side, meaning the entire door opens outwards in to your bathroom. This gives a nice wide opening to your shower, however it also means you'll need want to make sure you have room directly in front of the shower where the glass door will open out and not hit any toilets or basins.

Hinged shower doors are often confused with Pivot Shower Doors as they look similar once closed, however the Hinge and Pivot points are different. Hinged shower doors, unlike pivot doors, hinge from the wall giving a larger opening. As the doors hinge from the wall this means the frame of the shower can be reduce to give a more frameless look.

Hinged Door Shower Enclosures

Hinged shower door are connected to the shower enclosure or wall via hinges located on the side of the shower door and swing outwards from the shower enclosure into your bathroom. As the hinges are located on the side of the glass door, the door will swing out 100% of its size into the room, so it best to ensure you have enough room for the door to swing into without fowling on toilets, basin and radiators etc. As the hinged door is hinged from the side this mean the glass and enclosure can be frameless.
