13 Aug 2016, 3:43 PM

Sleep is important but can sometimes elusive. We also often fight it. Sleep has many benefits for the mind and body, but so many of us have trouble sleeping or are not getting enough. But did you know that steam showering can help for a better night’s sleep?

Steam showers can help you to unwind and relax after a busy day. Getting your body into a relaxed state before bed can help you sleep. Many modern steam shower cabin now include an aromatherapy option, by introducing lavender into your steam shower this can help even more.

Other tips include.

  1. Create a relaxation routine before bed. For example, a steam shower is a wonder in helping to promote sleep.
  2. If you avoid alcohol and caffeine, you will sleep better.
  3. Be prepared: properly estimate the amount of sleep needed (for example, a 20-year-old needs 9-10 hours)
  4. Set a regular sleep time that includes your weekend schedule
  5. Minimize sound and light in the hour prior to bedtime
  6. Remove gadgets (or turn them off) from the room
  7. When traveling, force yourself to stay up and “reset” your sleep rhythm
  8. Pick a few nights when you can sleep in without any disturbance and note how many hours you slept. That is the amount you should be getting regularly.
